Lofoten & Orca

The Expedition
This is the expedition that gives you everything the Arctic has in eight days.

First Lofoten. Glass cabins with northern lights overhead. Snowmobile through frozen valleys. Meet Sami reindeer herders who've survived here for generations. Snowshoe silent landscapes. Jacuzzi under the aurora. Eight people chosen for how well you'll connect.

Then Skjervøy. Drysuit on. Swim with hunting orca pods and humpback and watch as they hunt herring with synchronized precision Between: sauna sessions that feel earned, marine biology talks, evening fires with your group, northern lights over the fjords, conversations that go deeper than friendships you've had for years.

Our Expedition takes place during the last week of November when the lights are strongest and the orcas are here to hunt. This isn't a tour. It's the tour.
Itinerary
Day 1 — Narvik to Lofoten
Arrive in Narvik. Transfer to Lofoten Islands and check into your glass cabin — floor-to-ceiling windows, northern lights overhead, silence everywhere. Meet the group. Sauna and hot tub to shake off travel. Dinner together. First taste of what the next six days will feel like.
Day 2 — Sami Culture & Reindeer
Morning visit to a traditional Sami reindeer camp. You'll meet herders, feed reindeer, learn how they navigate seasons this extreme. Afternoon snowmobile ride through frozen valleys and mountain passes. Evening: northern lights hunt. We go where the forecast is clearest. Hot drinks, cold air, green skies if we're lucky.
Day 3 — Snowshoe & Transfer to Skjervøy
Early snowshoe trek through Lofoten's backcountry — just snow, mountains, and your breath in the air. Pack up after lunch. Transfer to Skjervøy by road and ferry (about 3–4 hours). Arrive at Seglvik basecamp. Settle into your cabin. Meet the crew. Dinner in the Lavvu tent. Gear talk and dive safety briefing for tomorrow.
Day 4 — First Day with the Whales
Breakfast at 7:30am. Full drysuit fitting and mandatory dive training in the harbor — we need to know you're safe before we put you in with apex predators. Then: boats out. Eyes scanning for blows and fins. When we find orcas, you go in. Cold water. Clear minds. Whales hunting herring in formation. Back to basecamp for sauna, waffles, and marine biology talk over dinner.
Day 5 — Hunt, Swim, Repeat
Same rhythm as yesterday but you're more comfortable now. Early breakfast. Daily boat expedition. Orcas, humpbacks, maybe both. Light lunch onboard when conditions allow. Back before dark. Hot showers. Evening around the fire. Northern lights check. Long conversations with people who get it.
Day 6 — Last Swim & Goodbye
Morning boat trip — your last chance in the water with the whales. Back to pack and check out. Tea in the whale house while you wait for the ferry. Transfer back to Narvik by early evening. Goodbyes that feel harder than expected. You leave carrying something that stays.

I've done liveaboards, safari, Antarctica. This topped everything. Not because of the orcas (though, my god, the orcas) — but because of who I spent those seven days with. We're already planning the MAUI next trip together.

"The application made sense once I met the group. Everyone was genuinely present. No one hiding behind a camera the whole time. We actually talked. Actual conversations. In 2026. Wild."

Fly into Narvik (EVE) via Oslo or Stockholm. We handle all ground transfers from Narvik. You'll return to Narvik on Day 6.
Why is there an application or selection process?
chevron down icon
Seven days in the Arctic with the same small group. We pick people carefully so everyone actually wants to be around each other. It works.
How experienced do I need to be?

Strong swimmer for the orca portion. Comfortable in cold water. Freediving experience helps but isn't required — we'll train you. Lofoten activities require basic fitness but no technical skills. If you're not safe in the water after training, we reserve the right to keep you on the boat.
What about weather?

It's Norway in November. Weather changes fast. Northern lights aren't guaranteed. Some days you won't leave the harbor. Some days you'll get orcas and aurora in the same 24 hours. We adapt.
